Process

This was a 1-2 week commissioned logo design for the company Xclusive Renos and Remodelling LLC. The client wanted a redesign of his old logo and was mainly going to use it for a T-Shirt Design. He wanted something modern and would pop. During the design process, I wanted to use his building design as inspiration to create a modern house similar to his old logo. I was experimenting with form and perspective (felt a little like architecture). An idea that stemed from that was the house that also looks like a toolbox and I felt like this was a great example of combining ideas. It represents that he does some type of house repairs which is what I was going for in that design, so that one is one I love alot. I used green there because that was his old logo color but I think a red with better shading would make that Idea perfect. In the final design, I decided to incorporate his old logo since he was attached to the design. The final design has the sharp X, with the windows of a house, and the building in the background. The emblem like design represents the circle of exclusive work done to typical houses but also to high end companies. The design he chose uses a half circle and the X combines with the text. In this way, the symbol and text are meant to be used together. The symbol can be used standalone but the text cannot. Red was the color he wanted to see used so when experimenting with different color combinations and different reds. The hardest was to chose a red that worked on different gray shirts. In the final, he chose to use 2 all red logos and the black & white combinations with that red. One red works better on a darker shirt and the other works on lighter shirts. And of course the Black or White logo is supposed to be used on its contrast color repectively.
