Process

This was a 1-2 week commissioned logo design for the company AJ Richards Construction. In the Inquiry, the focus was on a professional, meaningful, and presentable logo. He wanted the logo to be bold and smooth, and the color of the logo to be blue (I ask around 10 questions and this is all the information I had to use to make the logo). Similarily to all design processes, I start with brainstorming and sketches. Just to get down my immediate thoughts out and to extend from those to make more thought out logo ideas. Then I throw the ones I think are best into illustrator to turn them into a better / cleaner visual to present to the client. Once they chose one to go with, I experiment with color (color meanings, color theory, and color palettes) and the logos presentation. The client will chose the color they like best And the rest is compiling, payment, and legal document signing. Something that I want to try in the future when I have more long term logo design commissions, is to make a mascot or non flat logo.
